Is hiring a private driver in Sri Lanka worth it?
For most visitors, yes. Sri Lanka's sights are spread across the whole island, roads are slow, and public transport is an adventure in itself. A private driver-guide turns travel days into sightseeing days: you stop at viewpoints, roadside food stalls and hidden beaches no bus timetable allows, and there is always someone local to translate, negotiate and recommend. With fuel, parking and the driver's accommodation included in one price, it usually costs less than travellers expect.
How much does a private Sri Lanka tour with a driver cost?
It depends on your trip length, group size and accommodation style — a homestay tour costs far less than one with boutique hotels. That's why we don't publish one-size-fits-all prices: you tell us what you want to do, and your driver researches current rates and replies with a single all-inclusive quote, usually within 48 hours. There are no booking fees and no obligation.
What's included in the all-inclusive price?
Your own air-conditioned vehicle with an English-speaking driver-guide for the whole trip, all fuel and highway tolls, airport pick-up and drop-off, every night's accommodation, and the activities you selected — safari jeeps, train reservations, entrance tickets and experiences. The quote you confirm is the price you pay.
How many days do you need to tour Sri Lanka?
Ten to fourteen days is the sweet spot: enough for the Cultural Triangle (Sigiriya, Dambulla), Kandy, the hill-country train to Ella, a safari in Yala or Udawalawe, and time on the south-coast beaches. With seven days you can still see the highlights at a faster pace, and three weeks lets you add the east coast or the north.
When is the best time to visit Sri Lanka?
Sri Lanka is a year-round destination because two monsoons affect opposite sides of the island. December to April is best for the south and west coasts and the hill country; May to September favours the east coast, including Arugam Bay and Trincomalee. The Cultural Triangle is good in most months.
Do I have to pay anything when I send a trip request?
No. Sending your trip request costs nothing and commits you to nothing. Your driver replies with a personal itinerary and quote; you refine it together by email or WhatsApp and only confirm when you're happy. Payment terms are agreed directly with your driver.
Will my driver speak English?
Yes — your driver-guide speaks English and works with international travellers year-round. He handles the local logistics in Sinhala or Tamil, and explains what you're seeing along the way.
Can I change the itinerary during the trip?
Within reason, absolutely — that's the point of a private tour. Fancy an extra beach day or a market your driver mentioned? Because your transport is your own, plans can flex day to day. Pre-booked items like safaris and hotels are rearranged where availability allows.
